Working with Paul is like commissioning a personal work of art. He works with you to develop a vision for the structure, how it will fit into the planned environs and then works to add unique features that is the antithesis to a “cookie cutter" approach to home construction. We started with a standard “tiny house” footprint and ended up with a lovely custom cottage that is tucked into it’s space like a hand in glove. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Paul and his coworkers; with a special call-out to Alex, who is a gem!

Working with you and figuring out what we could build with the space we have was just the beginning. The craftsmanship, quality and all around function of the little house you built for us turned out to be so amazing. From the fully functional hand made single hung windows and French entry doors, to the wonderful smell and beauty of the solid Doug Fir wood has created a wonderful addition to our home. We are very proud of it!

Over the past six years, Heather and Paul have completed five building projects for my husband and me at our home in Portland. The first one was my "studio", a beautiful 12' x 14' with a high slanted metal roof and lots of windows. Everybody loves it.
Entirely built on site, it contains no plywood, sheetrock, particle board, or any such second-rate material. It's floor and the roof decking are of 2" X 6" Douglas fir tongue-in-groove. The outside as well as inside walls are 12" X 1" board and baton planks. The windows are all crafted in cedar, and the charming Dutch door can be open above for air while closed below to the doggy.
The second project was a handsome modern horizontal-plank property fence and gates. The third project was a "green" fence designed to support vines and flowers. The fourth and fifth projects progressed together, to re-side the south wall of our house with shingles, and to build a 10' X 13' covered deck, having four gorgeous tree-trunk corner posts, and two sets of stairs, one for general use and a smaller one for garden access.
We live on that porch! The heat-reflecting layer in the tin roof gives cool shade. All of these structures are of excellent quality, and we feel fortunate in having builders whose work provides no grounds for complaint but even occasions for wonder and admiration by visitors to our home.
We're glad to have discovered Heather and Paul. We like working with them and would never consider hiring any one else for a building project, large or small.

Working with Stafford Structural Concepts and Design was a great experience. Our barn project ran smoothly and communication of clarification questions or changes were timely. What I appreciated most about Paul, the owner of the company, was his ability to think outside of the box, his ability to creatively collaborate with us and then run with the ideas without a hitch. This dynamic team started with remodeling and making some accessibility additions to my home.
Their great work meant they have been continually rehired to build everything from a full apartment redesign to a garage to an improved bathroom and enormous adjacent new closet. Their integrity and attention to detail reflects their professional skills and abilities.
This couple also then built me a beautifully functional 16' x 20' cedar greenhouse with opening screened windows on all 4 sides and roof, enclosing wonderful raised beds so I could easily access my plants. Every detail was fulfilled to my design requests and far surpassed what I expected.
Their artistic touches and practical additions were abundant....I am so happy to be gardening again in the contained environment needed for my physical limitations. Thank you so much for enriching my quality of life in my golden years!!
